About Us
Hart Home Daycare was born out of my love of children and my desire to stay home with my own children. The original idea was developed while we were still living in Vancouver (we moved to Ottawa in May’06) and I was working as a nanny. Moving to Ottawa allowed us to find a home that would suit both our growing family and the needs of a busy daycare. The open concept main floor of our home is completely devoted to the daycare, incorporating a large playroom, a kitchen and dining area. The upper and lower floors are our personal family space but are also used for nap times.
I am a stay at home mom to three children (born December 2005, July 2007 and November 2008). My husband works outside the home but is also occasionally available to help out with the daycare. I can provide references and police checks for myself and my husband. We are both nationally certified Child Restraint (Car Seat) Technicians and hold current First Aid and CPR certification.
I have many years experience working with children aged 0-18 but strive to continually increase my knowledge and understanding of my field. I am currently pursuing my ECE (Early Childhood Education) diploma and International Montessori Teaching Certificates for ages 0-3 and 3-6. I am a member of the Canadian Child Care Federation and the Child Care Provider’s Resource Network (CCPRN). I regularly attend workshops and training events to keep up to date on my certifications, to further my education, and to develop new skills and ideas for fun things to do. I love arts and crafts, singing silly songs, reading, putting on plays and puppet shows, fort building, puddle jumping, cuddles, sidewalk chalk, sensory play, and more.
